Ground Messages Through Spiritual Tools

• Alone or with like minded friends, you may wish to use Tarot Cards or a Quartz crystal pendulum for receiving and amplifying ground energy.
•  TAROT: Lay 5 cards on the ground.  The center card represents the lands energy in present time.  The 2 cards left of the center card represent past history.  And the 2 cards right of the center card represent the future consequences of placing your creative project there.
• In the case of a Quartz Crystal Pendulum, if the pendulum moves in wide circles the energy of the land is healthy and well balanced.  If the quartz pendulum stops cold, the land suffers from blocked unhealthy energy.  Be cautious of placing anything here.  
• A ceremony honoring the  earth, much like Native Americans gave thanks to the animals they hunted for food, shows honor to the ground.

Aunties Haunted Studio

When entering the door to my lavender/incense fragrant studio some say "What Amazing Energy!" while those with conservative religious background sometimes feel uneasy.  Years of intuitive reading has given my garden studio it's own personality.  In the summer when the windows are open, as with any studio, fresh air can circulate and dissipate the vibes within.  In the winter the energy is more intense.

Windows of house plants, cats, art work, soft Feng Shui colors resonate with tulips in the spring, perennials and meditation pathways in the summer.   

Recently one of my favorite nephews, also a former Jehovah's Witness, decided to visit his Auntie. Unfortunately he had just watched "Children of the Corn" the night before, and as he drove the back roads to my house he found himself immersed in the setting of corn stalks and a primitive country setting much like the movie he had watched.

   New Age, Psychic or Alternative are considered evil and shunned at all cost with his childhood religion, so visiting his auntie was a big break through. Alone, with a smudge stick in hand, he spent the night in my Studio/Guest House, and as awesome a person as he is, hearing the voices of his religious roots screaming in his head created enough terror for even the cats to be afraid. Of course, add to this watching "Children of the Corn"  the night before which was still living richly in his head. My studio, where personal conflicts are read on and filled with intuitive energy, became "Aunties Haunted Studio."

  Sleepless, in the morning's light, he headed to my house across the lane for coffee. That afternoon, before he left, he became convinced he did not want to spend another night in the studio. We thoroughly cleared each room and doorway with the fragrant sage he brought along.  I am sure he saw this as doing me a favor, where I saw it gratefully as clearing his terror from the night before away. "Perhaps, I told him, your Charisma clashed with the studios." 

My studio is a place I have deeply cared for, and each and every plant, cat, and gentle paint color has been chosen with love.

• What I saw as a thriving vine of spiritual growth, his religious roots, conflicting with his open mind, interpreted as thorns.
• Perhaps this is the way it is when we deal with the voices of strict religion, and why even the people we love may feel uncomfortable in New Age Spirituality settings.
• For each and every one of us there is something that as innocent as the setting may be, makes us uncomfortable in that we have never experienced it before.

Even the people we love will not always see eye to eye with us and dread the Safe Haven we nurture.

Yoga - Stretching - Inversion Table * Spiritual Health

Commercials in which spry 70 yr old men hang themselves up side down on an inversion table, madly doing sit ups, swinging back up right in gleeful insanity, then springing on to their feet posture perfect was not for me. I was a skeptic. I saw these odd contraptions at floor shows and thought  "yeah sure, as I am hanging upside down it will break and I'll crunch onto the floor upside down on my neck...that's the ticket." But the more I see pictures of  Nelson Mandela's picture perfect posture in his 90's, I wonder if he too was not an Inversion Table warrior.



MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH AN INVERSION TABLE

My excuse for purchasing an Inversion Table was for my husband whose favorite second home was the basement weight lifting room.  Here he worked out three hours, every other night, using the washer and dryer cycles for his timer.  This meant supplying him with enough dirty clothes for his work out sets, and you never saw cleaner dog beds and cat cushions as ours.

Years later all this weight lifting has led to his new second home, the Chiropractor.  {Please do NOT tell him I just said this} He is in complete denial. So for his birthday I purchased an Inversion Table. And secretly, I was wondering if it would help me prevent "old lady shrink." Like the Mid-evil torture table, I will stretch my spine longer! Yes!"  Each year I wonder if I'm a little shorter from my phone job and psychic counseling.  And yes, I walk around with the phone.....do a half hour of Yoga EVERY morning before my day starts.  But the curse of all comfortable sit down jobs is shrinking and deteriorating posture.

I was a Denise Austin Yoga fanatic for two years until I switched to Classical Stretch with Miranda Esmonde-White.  Not once did either of them say, "Now to complete this session, stretch out on an Inversion Table!"   They were my queens so they would have told me if this was a productive thing to do.  Instead they promoted Stretch Bands, Yoga Balls and Sitting Blocks.


I COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW TALL AND STRAIGHT I FELT...Denise, Miranda, why didn't you tell me about this?

Once we set our inversion table up in the basement, immediately we went into a competition of which one of us could stay upside down longest.  As my husband set the table to my height, clamped my feet into the stirrups, I stretched my arms even with my head and flew upside down.  I screamed in confusion and fear. My husband assured me all was well, I counted to 19, and by putting my arms beside me on the Inversion Table, it flipped slowly back up.  When I got off the table I felt 3 inches taller and as if I had the posture of a 19 year old.  No kidding.  This has now led to a Half Hour of Yoga in the morning, then immediately afterwards to the Inversion Table where I stretch for 60 second intervals upside down. All I can say is if I miss EVEN ONE DAY....I notice a difference in my lower back tightness and alignment.  And since I am an Intuitive Reader and Life Coach I know its important to walk my talk, with a clear mind, before counseling anyone on THEIR life.

THE COMPLIMENT I GOT
I hadn't seen a couple of friends in almost seven years, when the 20 year old daughter said "you look as young as you did as when I last saw you."  I think that I have gained weight but the Inversion Table has Stretched and lengthened my muscles.
 
It is my egotistical need to walk like a Goddess.  I can not recommend enough to anyone who believes Stretching and Yoga are important, how adding an Inversion Table completes the mix.  And though my husband still goes frequently to the Chiropractor, it isn't the pain and agony weekend anymore after a punishing work out session until the office opens up.  Now he can stretch completely out on the table.  And that's all I have to say about it.  Amen  http://thecallingoflight.com

Sub Zero Insanity and Midwest Thighs

All over America large Midwest thighs will be cramming in to the jeans that fit perfectly two months ago.  Insane temperatures, plummeting as low as 10 degrees below zero,  are socking us.  Just the other day we were watching TV Christmas specials about Greenland glaciers melting and Polar Bears dying from global change and warming temperatures.

A CNN newscast Scientist gives out a Hallelujah that scientists have crossed genetic DNA with a prehistoric animal with a goat...not to worry if exotic animals are exterminated from weather change. Man Kind will gather their DNA and bring them back into existence. I wish they would cross my thin thighs of the past with my chubby thighs of now.

 This life killing cold, we are assured,  is no reflection that Global Warming has gone away.  It's trend is to spit out insane weather conditions, hot, cold, wet, dry and windy....not to mention sink holes so deep ancient warriors would have been proud to throw vestal virgins into. Of course none of this helps a Midwest woman with expanding thighs watching TV documentaries as she stays warm.  Because what we worry about is will we ever lose the weight again. And watching TV is a killer for Midwest thighs.

We  are running around like snow suited, double hatted, mittened little kids.  I cry, a slave to my compassion, for the animals and homeless people left outside to suffer.  Yet somewhere in America die hard fans have paid a fortune to watch foot ball in stadiums, their breath steaming like locomotives, as players run like Roman Gladiators fighting to the death for the entertainment of fans in  insane death-like conditions in Wisconsin. Home of big thighs.

My boots are squeaking in the hard snow as I approach a freezing old dog outside.  He has been outside for days without food. I leash him and bring him in the house for warmth.  My husband runs around doing the laundry. three dogs panting by the electric fireplace,  as I take psychic calls that are pouring in.  Its a good day for business as people have little to do in this weather except sit home, analyze their lives with big Midwest thighs.  Clients call, I tell them what I see, shuffle my well worn cards, laying out the good with the bad...kindly.  And I am very thankful for this business as I need money for the Bow Flex Tread Climber coming Monday to shrink my Midwest thighs.

 It has been told us that it will take 5 minutes for skin to die in these temperatures, and today I take full advantage of this and eat pop corn in a warm living room with the snoring dogs around me. 
There are many boots and shoes of all season by the door, and hoods, hats and gloves on the floor of the closet with one string of remaining white Christmas lights by the window.  In the mean while I look at a Spring Wholesale Planting magazine as if I can manifest warm weather to come tomorrow.

Ferris Wheel of Life ~ Semi Truck Smack Love

Life seems to be a Ferris Wheel.  We glide into the ups and downs of relationships, career, friends, heart aches and joys.  At times the deep felt down-times can cause some to commit suicide, and yet if they would have waited just one more month the Ferris Wheel would have changed position and coasted into joy.

Even the worst of times can change over night.  And love never comes when we plan on it, but hits us broadside like a semi truck. Graphic comparisons I know, but this is exactly how I read. And this is why I have been nick named "The Velvet Hammer" for my direct accuracy with soft wordage...I guess it's all in the warm tone of my loving voice why people like me.
